SecureCrypt offers the highest level of privacy which includes securing the SS7/cellular network. This is something that you cannot get with other providers of encrypted services and a service that free apps cannot provide.

Features:

Subscriber Location Protection (Location Blocking)
Subscriber Identity Protection
GSMA Security
OTA Encryption
Mutual Authentication
Secure Connectivity and APIs
SIM Jacker Protection
Tamper Proof SIMs

Features Specifications:

Subscriber Location Protection (Location Blocking)
Any location tracking request is blocked by default on the SS7/network/cellular level. Our telecommunications infrastructure allows for this as SecureCrypt uses a secure cellular core, which allows us access to granular security configurations that other companies do not provide.

To disclose subscriber’s location, SS7 attackers attach to the international SS7 network and query the subscriber’s location using different MAP operations, such as ATI, SRI-SM, PSI, etc... These MAP operations can be used to learn user identity (IMSI) and cell level location information. SecureCrypt secure mobile core network is equipped to fight against such attacks by monitoring incoming traffic and blocking MAP requests.

Subscriber Identity Protection
Subscriber’s IMSI represents the identity of the user in the mobile network and, if revealed, can allow attackers to disclose additional sensitive information or damage the quality of the service. SecureCrypt secure mobile core network is able to detect and block MAP operations that can be used by SS7 attackers to fetch the subscriber’s IMSI, therefore our client's IMSI is not available to anyone conducting any attack.

GSMA Security
GSM Association provides in the FS.11 document a set of guidelines on how SS7 links can be monitored and how anomalies can be detected and blocked.
SecureCrypt secure mobile core network fully implements the filtering and blocking of GSMA MAP messages.

OTA Encryption(Over The Air Encryption)
SecureCrypt, like the majority of telecom service providers, sends OTA (Over The Air) messages to the subscribers’ SIMs to update configurations. SecureCrypt complies with GSMA and GlobalPlatform standards regarding the encryption of OTA messages sent to subscribers’ devices. The SCP80 (Secure Channel Protocol) is used with 128-bit AES encryption keys. Highly secure OTA messages that cannot be intercepted or manipulated.

Mutual Authentication
Mutual authentication between mobile devices and the core network based on GSMA and 3GPP standards. In addition to the standard authentication performed by the mobile core network to identify the devices and grant them access, the device (SIM), from its side, can authenticate the network to verify its legitimacy and protect end-users against CSS (Cell Sites Simulators) attacks. Applies only on 3G and beyond.

Secure Connectivity
Encrypted path between the secure mobile core network (VPN, MPLS, Advanced Encryption on board SIM). Data is encrypted so it cannot be intercepted or altered. Location disabled by default.

SIMJacker Protection
This feature protects against SIMJacker attacks. SIMJacker attacks can be achieved by sending manipulated OTA messages to a target SIM that runs vulnerable SIM toolkit applications, namely the S@T browser application. All consumer level SIMs contain this software on the SIM itself. These vulnerable applications are hacked to process injected code encoded in the OTA message and execute actions that can disclose subscriber’s private information. SecureCrypt in addition to the protection applied from the SIM side (by removing the S@T browser application), enhances the security monitoring and blocking all non-legitimate OTA messages passing through the network.

Tamper Proof SIMs
SecureCrypt complies with GSMA and GlobalPlatform standards in the context of securing its SIMs using tamper-resistant chips.

Private APNs

An Access Point Name (APN) is the name of a gateway between a mobile network (GSM, GPRS, 3G, 4G and 5G) and another computer network, frequently the public Internet.Global APNs that are provided by default with SecureCrypt Secure SIMs, are private, secure, and not available to the public to access. This in of itself helps to decrease attack surface from SS7 attacks/attackers. The benefit is also traffic isolation and secure connection to a private network.
